Three Years Later (age 16) "Dad!" I yelled down the steps. "What? I'm busy!" He yelled back. "Where's my good pair of jeans?" I asked, I could've sworn they were in my room. "Which ones?" He asked "The black ones. I need them. I'm going to a party with my friends." I absolutely refused to wear a dress. "I'll find them later!" He yelled back. "Thanks dad." I said rolling my eyes. "Wait, why don't you try this on." Chloe said handing me an emerald green halter dress. I looked at the dress in confusion, then back at her. "No, sorry. I don't do dresses." I replied handing the dress back to her. "Have you even tried wearing one?" Chloe asked as we passed the dress the dress back and forth. "No, but--" "Just try it." She interrupted handing me the dress and giving me a push towards the bathroom door. I went to the bathroom to try on the dress. I didn't hate it... but I'll never admit that. I then walked out of the bathroom and back into my room. "See? It wasn't that bad, was it?" She asked "I don't have shoes that'll match it." I said trying to play it off as though I hated the dress. I could tell it didnt work because she immediatly started her newest project. Getting me to wear this dress at all costs. "Mom! Let's get this girl some heels!" Chloe yelled down the stairs. After much rejection, we found some black heels with gold studs that went perfectly with the dress. Chloe then started doing my hair. "When was the last time you washed it?" She asked. We went to the bathroom and she washed my hair in the sink. "Do you care if I cut it? Im really good at it..." She asked. "Go for it." I replied. My hair was already as bad as it could get. So theres no reason why not... She then proceeded to cut, dry it and curl it. It actually wasn't that bad. After hair, she moved on to makeup. She took out all my face piercings (4 in total), and got started. She gave me a black smokey eye, and a dark lipstick. "Now, time for accessories." She remarked. "You can choose two piercings to keep on your face..." We settled on a gold studded headband and gold ram horn earrings. She gave my lip rings back and I put both of them back in. "Perfect." She said. Then she sent me out to the living room. I sat on the couch and waited for Skylar to pick me up. "I thought you hated dresses..." My dad said entering the room. "You look great." "Was that a compliment I heard? Thanks dad." I said. "Do you have a ride?" He asked. "Yeah." I replied. "Skylar is picking me up." "Be careful around her. She's a bit of a bad influence." He said. "I know dad," I said as I stood up to wait by the door. Soon after, Skylar pulled up to the house and I left.

"Nova!" He yelled up the stairs. " I didn't do it!" That's my automatic response. "What? Get down here!" "What do you want, dad?" I ask. I'm not usually sure in this scenario. I'm either one of two things. 1. I'm in trouble, or 2. He's in trouble. “Your home early...” He said as he appeared in front of me. “Yeah, there was a fight at school,” She said. She decided not to tell him that she was the one to finish it. “Well,” He said starting to pace. “While you were away, I got to thinking...” “And?” I asked curiously. He’s always thinking and hasn’t brought up much before... "We need to leave. Again." He snapped "Again? We moved here three days ago! Are you being serious?" I snap back. "I don't have to handle this attitude girlie. I can leave whenever I want." He said in that very specific tone. You know. The tone every parent uses to try and get you to drop your attitude, but it just makes you angrier. "Fine. Leave. See if I care!" I yelled. Accidentally breaking two windows in the process. "You don't mean that..." He's right. I didn't mean that, but I wasn't going to admit it. "Fine. We're moving. Where to this time?" I asked "With Thor. And Chloe." "No way. Nope. Not doing it. I'll live alone before I move in with Chloe. I can't stand her or her perfect little family." "It's not your choice, it's mine. So we're going." He said replied clearly done with the attitude I had. “But that’s not fair!” I said as he put a book into my hand. “Write it down and get in the car,” He said giving me a pen. There’s no way. First we’re moving out of the house I grew up in, and then he expects me to write about it? Fine. I’d write about it, but he won’t be able to read it. I picked up the book and cursed it to burst into flames if the reader is not myself. Supernova: Keep off unless you want to lose that hand. That means you too dad. **************************************************** Entry I (Age 13) I was informed by my father that we would be moving today. Not just moving though, moving in with my cousin, and my uncle, who I hate. I don’t mind Auntie Jane as much, but cousin Chloe bugs the magic out of me. When I got home from The Allfather’s Academy For Troubled Teens, he decided to tell me the news. I hated the idea right away, but before I could protest, my father had already packed my things and had them waiting in the car. Great. This is gonna be the worst experience of my life. - Nova **************************************************** Most of the car ride there was silent. The only thing to be heard was the music to keep us from losing grasp of what was real. “Look at the bright side,” My father said breaking the silence “you won’t have to go to the academy anymore...” We turned into their driveway and got out of the car. “Whatever,” I said grabbing my bag. “Listen, I know the living situations aren’t the best, but you have to stay tough princess, okay?” He said ruffling my hair. “Fine,” I said as we walked up to the door. As soon as we got to the doorstep, the door swung open. “Cousin!” Chloe said as she opened the door. “Hello, make yourself at home.” We stepped into the house. It was... colourful. “I can show you to your room, cousin,” She said with a smile. We walked through the house until we came across a door. She opened the door to the room and stepped inside. “Here we are,” She said before promptly leaving the room. “Thanks!” I called after her. I set my bag on the ground and headed to the car to get the rest of my boxes. After I had gotten them all into my room, I started to unpack. I unpacked everything and noticed my Panic! At The Disco cd’s we’re all missing. “Dad?” I called through the hallway. “What is it princess?” He said appearing outside the door. “Where are all my cd’s?” I asked re-searching the boxes. “I never really cared for that band...” He replied as he turned around and left. “Seriously?” I called through the house. “I paid for those!” 7/2/2019 0 Comments Chapter 1Chapter 1: Allfather’s Academy For Troubled Teens
I walked to my Physics class with my head down. My hood pulled over my head, hoping to avoid eye contact with pretty much everybody. Everybody at the Allfather's Academy For Troubled Teen's was either cursed, born with powers, or had just an overall crappy life. Take your pick. I only had a select few I would call my 'friends'. First there's Skylar. She was one of the unlucky ones, born with powers that made her one of the most dangerous titans in existence, and the daughter of none other than The Mad Titan, Thanos. Then there's Liam and Cassidy Strange. A.K.A The Terror Twins. They were born with powers, but they don't know how to control them. Making them pretty dangerous human beings. They're here by accident and are leaving after the semester. "Ah, My partner in crime has arrived," Skylar said when I stepped into the classroom. Everyone turned their head towards me causing my powers to go on edge. "Uh, thanks Sky..." I said. Everybody watched as I sat at my seat. "Nova, hood down please," One of the professors, Bragr said before starting the class. "Fine," I muttered as I put my hood down. A strand of my jet black hair fell in front of my face as I tried to fix it into a bun. I sat quietly as he taught us about something he called 'particle physics' and to be honest, I wasn't paying attention to any of it. When the bell finally rung, signifying the class was over, Skylar and I walked out of the classroom and back towards my locker. "What did you guys do in history class last week? I was sick..." Skylar asked when we arrived at my locker. "Nothing much. Gefjon said to just read over chapter 6 again." I replied as I opened my locker. "Okay," Skylar said smiling. We had the entire chapter memorized by now, so there wasn't any reason to worry. "Do you wanna hang out after school? I was thinking we could go to..." “Well look who we have here! Tiny Titan and The False God,” Somebody interupted from down the hall. I recognised that same sentence from yesterday, and the day before, and the week before... I looked up from my locker and saw Dakota Wilson. "I gotta go..." Skylar said going invisible. "Don't do anything you'll regret!" She yelled from down the hall. “First of all, it’s Goddess of Mischief. Secondly, go away Dakota,” I said as I took my history textbook out of my locker. “We should listen to her,” Jade Maximoff, the little tag along in the popular trio said as she took a step back. “Aww, the false god is bothered by me...” Dakota said smirking. I could feel my powers building inside me. Ready to burst like a volcano. “I don’t think that’s a good idea...” Kori Danvers, the captain of the 'hope squad' said taking a couple of steps back. “She has a reputation here...” “If I were you, I’d run now,” I said, my hands starting to glow green. “Wow, I’m terrified,” Dakota said sarcastically. Meanwhile Jade had slowly made her way into one of the classrooms, and Kori had gone to the principal. “You had a warning,” I said as a darkness took control of me. My eyes turned as green as a dark forest. A fire built up inside me and set itself free. The hall went up in flames, destroying most of the lockers. My history textbook was history. It took a few of the teachers to calm me down and they sent me home for the day. |
